Vicci Martinez Continues to Sail Through the Summer

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some people, but not Vicci Martinez.  On Friday Vicci received recognition from Billboard.com noting her as a “Bubbling Under” artist of the week! Billboard does this every Friday.  It’s a weekly look at new and noteworthy acts making their way toward Billboard chart success! The article noted that her single “Come Along” ,which features Cee Lo Green, is receiving strong early support from a few radio stations. KWYE Fresno, CA.(Twitter:@Y101Fresno) had 75 plays in the July 2-8 tracking week, according to Nielsen BDS (Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems), and KCIX Boise, ID (Twitter:@Mix106) had 65. This single is from Vicci’s debut ,self- titled album VICCI. Vicci’s first album with Universal Republic peaked at #10 on the iTunes charts just a few short weeks ago and also hit the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #10.

Vicci Martinez continues to sail through her West Coast Summer Tour with rave reviews. So far she has hit cities like Portland, Vancouver, San Diego, San Francisco, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Spokane, and Boise. There are a few dates and cities still listed, so go grab your tickets! We’re  sure that there will be more dates to come and we will have them for you as soon as they are added. A special Chicago date (July 27) was just added for CeeLo Green’s “Voices for Children” benefit.  Vicci will be  joining Jamar Rogers, James Massone and Cheesa for a “Team RedZone Reunion”, as some would say. If you are in that area you can but tickets here: http://bit.ly/PWEDxl

This won’t be the first time that Vicci has performed with Jamar Rogers. Jamar opened up for Vicci on some of her West Coast tour dates. He even stepped in and sang Cee Lo’s part in “Come Along”. People were actually calling these shows The Concert With the Heart of Gold! All over social media you would see people raving about how big Jamar’s heart was and how he and Vicci clicked so well.

Brittany Frederick from Starpulse.com reviewed Vicci’s San Diego show and couldn’t have said it any better: “Both performed material with substance and meaning behind it, and their performances were some of the most emotional this reviewer has ever seen in concert….This is what makes a concert worth going to. It’s not necessarily the sound of the music -but it’s the experience, the things that you can’t capture with a CD or iTunes download. It’s about sharing something with the artists and fellow fans”  Read her full review here.

Vicci’s debut album continues to get great reviews from critics of various backgrounds. Journalist Jacob Elyachar gave it an “A” the week it came out which, was better than Justin Bieber got. He gave Beleive  a “B+ “. http://bit.ly/M7Zjil  Big Red Chairs also gives props for Vicci’s decision to wait and put out a quality album and not just filler ” This album is very representative of Vicci Martinez the musician as well as Vicci Martinez the individual, and it was worth the wait.”http://bit.ly/Omdv3B

You can also help with writing reviews! If you haven’t written a review yet go on over to iTunes or Amazon and write what you think about Vicci’s new album! It not only helps other fans learn more but it also shows the label and radio stations that fans are interested in Vicci’s music and helps influence them in playing and promoting her. Remember it does matter!

I heard a rumor that she is currently working on a video concept for “Come Along.” This would be so awesome! I know everyone is waiting to see that! I wonder if Cee Lo is going to be in it or even if Vicci will even be in it? Hmmmmm… Ok now on to some fun facts about Vicci that I got from The Autostraddle Interview… So it seems that right now Vicci’s dream collaboration is to work with Eminem! HOLY CRAP that would be amazing, well if you are like me and like Rap & Eminem. Just saying! She explains why to Autostraddle:

“I think he’s a great rapper, but I like the things that he talks about. And you know there used to be a point where I used to think that things were so negative but he kind of reminded me of Tupac. I feel like Tupac…I mean that’s somebody who I would have loved to collaborate with. But at the end of his years I feel like Tupac was starting to talk about things and was bringing awareness to so many situations and I think Eminem has the ability to do that and I would love to do something like that with him.”

Vicci says that she is currently listening to Janelle Monae recently and, of course, Bob Marley and Paul Simon. When asked if she had a favorite radio station song right now she asks the interviewer not laugh and then tells Autostraddle:

[laughs] “And I’m just being completely honest, I’m not even going to try to sit here and try to give you a cool answer. I’m just going to own up to it. This is pretty funny…I just downloaded Katy Perry’s album on Spotify. And I was like “oh, I already feel like I’ve listened to the whole album” because every single song on there was a single on the radio and then there’s a song called “Wide Awake” and I was like “yeah, I fuckin’ love this shit.” It’s great. And then I was listening to it over and over. My friends are like “Dude, what the hell? Turn this off.” And I’m like “shut up. This is great.” And then literally the next day I turn on the radio and it was Katy Perry saying “Hey, thanks for listening to Shoobie Doobie. This is my new single ‘Wide Awake’.”

Crap who doesn’t love them some Katy Perry right? As long as you didn’t say “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber, Vic, then we might have to check your temperature! Vicci goes on to share that her favorite lesbian movie is Gia and favorite show was The L Word. She has a friend that was on The REAL L Word. Vicci explained that she thought some of the show was made up ,but her friend said it wasn’t. She was surprised because she says was never that dramatic. She continues to talk about how she would love to use her song “Come Along” in Obama’s new campaign ,but doesn’t know how to go about it. So if anyone knows how, email us so we can help her out! She tells her coming out story which is great and you can read in the actual interview. I will post the link at the bottom of the page. There’s also a great story concerning the Christina Aguliera and Tony Luca controversy from season 2 of ‘The Voice.’ To read the full interview from Autostraddle: Click here: http://bit.ly/PT3EID

“VICCI” is Here & it was Worth the Wait

Well it’s finally here and it was definitely worth the wait! The self-titled debut album ‘VICCI’ by Vicci Martinez is now playing in headphones everywhere!  iTunes officially released the album on Monday, June 18th around 11pm Eastern Time. The official release date was scheduled for June 19th. Lucky for us Vicci fans, iTunes likes to release music a little early! WHOOOT! It quickly started climbing and by mid-afternoon Tuesday had hit #10 on the iTunes Pop Charts!

#ViccisARMY members and fans across the country flocked to iTunes to buy the album which contains 2 bonus tracks that the physical CD and other digital outlets do not have. The two extra tracks are called “Snake Charmer” ,which is about single moms, and “Alive” ,which is a very raw and emotional song. With the bonus songs the album was holding strong with a total of 13 tracks. The album includes the 4 songs from Vicci’s EP “Come Along” which was released back in May.

Prior to the release of  ‘VICCI’, #ViccisARMY members were out promoting the new album on media outlets as well as word of mouth. We asked them to re-tweet our tweets on twitter and come up with their own unique tweets. One of the most unique tweets was related to Justin Bieber, who’s album was also releasing the same day. The tweet read: “If @JustinBieber is your #Boyfriend, let @VicciMartinez be your #Girlfriend!  “VICCI” releases June 19th #BeStillBeFreeBelieve.”  We were doing everything we could to get our Vicci noticed. Some fans even sent tweets to other celebrities and asked them to help support Vicci and rewteet our tweets. Vicci had a lot of love from veterans of NBC’s The Voice. Some of those that helped the cause were alumni Beverly McClellan – also a finalist in Season 1 – Frenchie Davis, Voice roommate Emily Valentine and teammate Nakia from CeeLo Green’s Team. Coaches, CeeLo, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton also threw their support behind Vicci with tweets to their followers. Kristina Grossmann, A&R for Universal and Darcy Gilmore, who often did makeup for Vicci were also right there with the tweets. From Season 2, fellow Team CeeLo alums Julliet Simms and Jamar Rogers congratulated Vicci and had nothing but praise for the new album.. Jamar is also currently opening up for Vicci on her West Coast Tour!

Since the album dropped we have been keeping up with the iTunes music charts. Currently Vicci’s CD has peaked at #10 on the POP Album Chart and #60 on the overall iTunes Album chart! The album is holding its own and as of Wednesday evening was still in the top 20 at number 17. Yes, we are very proud of our warrior! Hopefully with word of mouth and some more promotion we can help her stay on the charts for a while. There are a number of ways that you can purchase Vicci’s album as well as her merchandise.( Side Note: You can buy merchandise including CDs, Posters, Bandannas, Tote Bags and more at any of Vicci’s live shows). Check out the links below for ways to purchase “VICCI.”

I have to  be honest, this is one of the only albums I have ever bought that I don’t feel the need to hit the skip button. Every song of this album is amazing and there’s something for everyone. The album features up tempo dance anthems like “I Can Love”, heartfelt ballads like “Hold Me Darlin” and “Let Go”, all the way to sexy/steamy songs like “Not Washing You Off of Me.” If you are a classic Vicci fan and enjoy her more soulful side then you will love “I Want Your Kiss” and “Touch That Fire.” Vicci does what Vicci does best and that is tell her story. She lets us into her heart and soul and helps us to feel what she is feeling. Motivating us with songs like “Come Along”.. teaching us to take a STAND! This album feels autobiographical and shes not afraid to let us in. Vicci always tells us that “We are all in this together” and I believe in that. She is taking us on a personal journey and letting us know that it is in fact OK to feel down sometimes. Her song “Little Faith” describes that feeling, but also reminds us that there will always be someone to help you back up.

This is only the beginning for Vicci. If you want to feel that raw emotion and listen to that powerful voice of hers, then you can catch her live on tour right now on the West Coast.  And of course.. for a “quick fix” don’t forget to order and/or download the new album, VICCI! You won’t be disappointed. Vicci promises to try to get to each and everyone of us very soon. So while you are waiting for her to come to a town near you (like I am) lets keep promoting her and loving her. One of the best ways to do that is by word of mouth. Make sure you are calling your local radio stations and requesting “Come Along.” Let them know that shes in the top #10 Pop iTunes chart and you want to hear it! Radio plays a big part in promotion. In fact a very HUGE part. Lets jump on board the Vicci train and get to work! Vicci Takes Over the Month of MAY!

May has been a very busy, yet amazing month, for Vicci Martinez. May 1st was just the start, with the release of Vicci’s 4 song EP. Later that same day she performed her new single “Come Along” Featuring CeeLo Green on the Live Semi-final Eliminations for Season 2 of ‘The Voice.’ Check out her live performance with CeeLo right here.

Vicci chose “Come Along” for her first single because she loved the message of the song. In a review on www.Arjanwrites.com Vicci states:

“I think the lyrics are really important for people today, for all of us but especially for our generation,” she adds. “We can break the cycle and habits that our society has been stuck in. It is a time of evolution, evolving into our divine, most perfect self. I feel this is a step that I’ve been trying to take and by singing this song, I’m asking everyone else to come along with me and take a stand.”

Along with Vicci’s single, the EP consisted of another 3 amazing songs. “Run Run Run” is an up tempo pop song with lyrics such as “I’m just trying to find my place. Am I right or wrong.. Where do I belong…..Why do I run?” Then there is the up beat dance anthem “I Can Love.” This song has Vicci’s message written all over it with lyrics like “Who I am is what you see. And yes its love that sets me free.” As well as the amazing chorus “But maybe I can stop and change this world. Maybe I can be that super girl. Maybe I can do more than you think. I know I can because I have a heart that beats and iiiiii can love.” Then there’s the super ballad “Hold Me Darlin.” Vicci had already written this song as it was on her “Live From Jazzbones” CD, but she changed the tempo and added a few verses to the song.

May 2nd kicked off Vicci’s West Coast Radio Promo Tour. She hit many cities such as Bakersfield, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Eugene, Portland, Palm Springs, Vancouver, BC, Seattle, Spokane, Boise,  and Salt Lake City.

Vicci Martinez on life after “The Voice”

Posted on AfterEllen.com by

Trish Bendix, Managing Editor

on May 15, 2012

On the first season of The Voice, Vicci Martinez wowed the judges and viewers with her rendition of Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep.” She joined Cee-Lo Green‘s team and made it all the way through the end of the competition, representing her coach and herself in the finals last winter. Since then, she’s been readying a new album (her first with time and money to put into it) and made a few other life changes, including breaking up with her longtime girlfriend. Martinez took some time between radio promotional tour dates to talk with us last week about her recent performance on The Voice‘s second season, how she feels about being a spokewoman for the LGBT community and why she’ll still sing that Adele song when she sings live.

AfterEllen.com: Did you hear the news about President Obama endorsing gay marriage?

VM: No! I was out to lunch.

AE: He was just doing an interview on ABC and he said he supports it. Everyone on the internet is very excited. [Laughs]

VM: It’s interesting that you say that because my new song “Come Along” — I’ve had a few people say, “Wow, you should get to the Obama campaign.” Like that would be an interesting song.

AE: Yeah?

VM:The song is not really defining anything it’s just saying, you know, it’s time to take a stand and come out and vote, you know, come out and do something so that’s pretty incredible.

AE: Yeah, it’s pretty exciting. Are you still planning on getting married? I remember you saying in an interview that you were planning to get married to your girlfriend.

VM: We were but we actually split up.

AE: Oh, OK.

VM: Yeah, it was nothing bad. I got my contract to go work with Universal just as she got a contract to be a dancer in Seattle so we were both kind of going in two different directions. So we just felt like it was maybe just time to cool it.

AE: Yeah. Is it easier to be single when you’re trying to do all the things that you’re doing these days? When you’re on tour and recording an album, do you find that it’s difficult having a relationship?

VM: I don’t think it’s hard having a relationship, I think for us it was just more being away from each other. It was just too difficult. It wasn’t like, “I want to party and be crazy and be a rock star.” Like, not at all. [Laughs] I’ve been in relationships since I’ve been touring which is like 12 years and it’s great that I’ve been able to have my partners go on the road with me. And this was just totally different. She was actually considering moving to LA with me instead of pursuing her dance career and we both were like “wait, that’s not good for either of us.” Because that’s been her dream, so.

AE: Yeah, that makes sense. So did you watch The Voice finale last night?

VM: Yeah, I did. It was great.

AE: How did you feel about it? Do you think America chose the right winner?

VM: I was really happy with how things turned out because I think all the finalists have a career ahead of them. They were all so different but it was nice to know, I felt Jermaine was such an underdog, when you calculate Itune sales and being on the charts and having crazy memorable performances. I felt like lot of people thought that other contenders were going to win but what was cool was it seemed like it was based on their final performances. Which is like what is should be based on, you know? That’s the performance of your life [Laughs] and he did an excellent job. He deserves it.

AE: What was it like for you to go back and perform with Cee-Lo?

VM: Really fun. It was totally different now being on the other side of the fence. Being treated as an artist and not having to freak out and hope that America’s going to vote for you. [Laughs] It was nice to be able to play your own music and do your own thing and not wear a ninja costume.

AE: Awesome. You’ve made so many albums before you even got to The Voice, what was different about writing and recording your new album?

VM: Yeah, the whole process. I’ve been making in these albums in the past with my own money and to get into the studio and be able to afford it instead of “whatever I can get done in one week is what we’re going to do,” you know? This was a process to be able to work with some of the greatest producers out there. And I mean great like capable and people that have also won Grammys and know what they are doing. You kind of want to get things done quickly and I felt like it was very important to make a great record with the risk of people forgetting me from The Voice, it wasn’t that way for me. I took it as I’m going to use this opportunity to make a great record. I’ve never had that opportunity to take the time.

AE: When you’re on tour do you feel pressure to perform songs you performed on The Voice or do you just do all your own stuff?

VM: I have definitely been performing songs from my new album and even last night I did a couple of Voice songs and just said to the audience, “you guys wouldn’t know me if it weren’t for me singing this song on the show.” I think it’s important to do those songs and recognize that because of the show I am where I am now. So I don’t mind playing those songs at all.

AE: Do you ever feel the pressure to be a spokesperson for the LGBT community because you’re out? Is it something that you don’t mind or how do you feel about that?

VM: Whatever is going to make someone have a better day, I’d like to do it. I’ve been able to connect with people and they’ll say, “yeah, I like your music but I also share this with you” and I hear lots of stories of coming out. It seems like it’s getting better and easier for some people to come out and I have my own story of rejection and not having it be as easy for me as it has been for others. There’s a lot of people who share the same thing and when you have someone you look up to shares that experience as you it’s nice, it’s nice to know. It’s like if someone loses a parent, it’s like, “ok you know, you get it. You know how it is.”

AE: Yeah, that’s a good way to put that. What can people expect from your new album? Are there any themes that you stuck with?

VM: It’s definitely an up tempo pop rock driven album. There is a song on there about the break up I just went through with my girlfriend and a song about my father. Letting go of the pain of losing a parent or anyone close to you but being able to go on with your life and learn how to celebrate for sure. And then I have some girl power anthems, songs with a strong message that I feel are important to have out there right now and it’s kind of what I believe in anyway. If you’re going to be able to reach a lot of people hopefully you have something inspiring to say. You know?

AE: Definitely. What else do you plan on doing besides touring that’s in support of the album? Will you be doing any public appearances besides touring?

VM: Touring, yeah, and I’ve been visiting a lot of radio stations and doing radio promos and that’s definitely a big thing to get my record out there. I’ll be doing an appearance at the Gracie Awards in LA and I’ll be doing a performance for the mayor during pride weekend. I thought it was pretty cool that he asked me to come do something like that for the community.

AE: Definitely. Do you do anything around Seattle or Tacoma around pride time or doing any special performances there? VM: I think I’m going to be in San Francisco for pride.

AE: Oh, OK.

VM: We haven’t booked anything yet but we were planning to show in San Francisco but my brother, who’s also gay, said, “you’re going to be in San Francisco during pride and you better do something instead of just walking around!”

AE: Yeah. [Laughs]

VM: “Play your guitar in the streets! You better do something.”

AE: I was reading somewhere that you were approached by American Idol to audition for them. Was that your experience? VM: No, I actually tried out for Season 1 and I got through but I didn’t go because I just didn’t feel like I was old enough yet. I didn’t know what was going to happen with that show. It was just the first season and I was just a kid and I wanted to grow up and I wanted to know my craft. I just started playing and singing and I wanted to get a little more educated in this music thing that I like to do. I didn’t want to go out there yet.

AE: I’m just wondering because I spoke to another one of The Voice contestants from this year who identifies as a lesbian and she was saying she auditioned for Idol and they were telling her that she was going to have to change her image, like de-gay herself essentially to be on the show. I was wondering if that was your experience at all?

VM: Oh, I definitely got that too that I needed to look more like a rock star. I went in with my tie dye shirt and my jeans and they were probably like, “yeah, that’s not going to work.” [Laughs] I knew at 16 that I wasn’t going to change myself and I wanted to be confident with who I was and you know I was just a little hippie kid then, stumbling around.

AE: [Laughs] VM: I’m from Tacoma so it’s easy to be like that.

AE: Is it safe to say that The Voice was the right time in your career to be on a show like that?

VM: Absolutely. You know what’s really weird, a few months before The Voice even approached us I remember sitting down and talking to my girlfriend and saying, you know I was feeling pretty desperate, “I’ve been doing this for 12 years. I said no to Idol, what if I said yes? What would have happened?” I was kind of just getting down on myself. I know that so many careers are launched on shows like this and I just wish there was another show where I can be myself, you know, people would like me for me. I wouldn’t have to sell out and do things I don’t want to do and still be able to use that platform you know a giant talent competition.

AE: Right.

VM: Literally a few months later The Voice came. It was pretty ridiculous.

Vicci Martinez’s EP is out now. Her full-length album, Vicci, drops June 19.

Fusion Magazine – Vicci Martinez

Vicci Martinez stopped in Boise on the last leg of her initial radio promo tour. Michelle Hernandez  – @missylea wrote this article for Fusion Magazine @i_amFusion (http://fusion-mag.com/content/vicci-martinez)

We had the pleasure of welcoming an aspiring and talented artist Vicci Martinez, to the Varsity Pub Wednesday night. The place was packed anticipating the arrival of Martinez. She accelerated the crowd with her soulful acoustic-oriented performances while stimulating the audience for more. It’s been a year since she was in the final round of The Voice representing Cee Lo Green; she is now signed with Universal Republic Records. With her astonishing tone and depth, she performed her new cover single “Come Along” ft. Cee Lo Green.

“I come from a blues, soul and funk background”, which is what she has been portraying over the last 10 to 12 years. She believes in the powerful and meaningful lyrics “time flies, make a statement, take a stand”, to always do the work for yourself and not expect others to. She is promoting her record on her own, not just to make people know her, but to know this song. Guests had the privilege of previewing her new album that has not been released yet, while doing a meet and greet with the audience. Idaho was the end of her west coast radio promo tour, so she wanted to do it with a “Bang”. Vicci Martinez album comes out June 19th so be sure to check it out!

So let me tell you my story…

When I saw these charts below I saw that Vicci’s song was played on WAYV 95.1 which is a local radio station near me. So last night I went on twitter looked for their twitter account and tweeted them. I asked them to play the song.. and guess what?! THEY DID!  They tweeted me and said “Hey its actually on right now!” The sad news was that I didnt see that tweet until 4 mins after they played the song. So I decided to tweet them again and ask if they could play it again soon. They responded back around 1 am and told me they would play it again between 3:05-3:10am. I am such a dedictated fan that I stayed up texting with a friend not even from NJ who was listening to my radio station online. She was also waiting to see if they would play it. So we waited up and the radio station played it at 3:12am. I was so stoked I almost flew through the roof! Yes I know I sound like a uber dork, but thats because I am and I’m not afraid to show it! LOL.

So all it takes is a little time and effort on our part and Vicci could be playing all over the country. Get to requesting Vicci in your hometown! If you want it they will play it! So whatever your style is, whether its emailing, texting, tweeting, calling, downloading an app, get on it and get our girl played!

Vicci Martinez Showcases New Music at The Key Club

Last night our girl Vicci Martinez played in an intimate showcase at The Key Club in West Hollywood, CA. The showcase was all about her new music from the up coming self-titled album ‘Vicci”, due out this June. “I’ve worked on the album for a year and this is my first time getting to play these songs.” ,Martinez tells The Hollywood Reporter.  According to tweets & Facebook posts by friends and fans, Vicci blew the roof off of the house last night! Fellow friend and A & R rep for Universal Republic & ‘The Voice’,  Kristina Grossman simply stated, “My girl Vicci Martinez killed it tonight!!!” Emily Valentine, who was Vicci’s roommate on Season 1 of ‘The Voice” and part of TEAM CEE LO, also went to Facebook & Twitter. Emily shared a video of Vicci covering “Jolene” and simply said, “One of my best friends. The ultimate. So stoked. Vicci Martinez.”

Vicci played a few sets for the special guests including her first single “Come Along”. The single features her coach from season 1 of ‘The Voice’, Cee Lo Green. “Come Along’ ‘will be bundled into a 4 song EP that will be available to download on Tuesday, May 1st. Cee Lo was not there to accompany Vicci on the song due to a prior engagement, but there is no doubt that Cee Lo wants Vicci to soar. Vicci tells The Hollywood Reporter that her former coach still shows an investment in her success. “He’s definitely kept in touch with me.” she says. If you missed them performing the song together check out our video section where they performed on the ‘Tonight Show with Jay Leno.’

According to The Hollywood Reporter.  “One of the sets included a rock ballad titled “Hold me Down,” which she told the audience she wrote in New York with a bottle of tequila in 15 minutes. She also performed the anthem-like, “I Can Love.” The singer rounded out her short show with another rock ballad titled “Let Go” that she dedicated to her father.”

I personally was not there to see Vicci perform, but there are a few videos surfacing on the web that I am loving! Once we get these videos and the rights to them we will make sure we post them for everyone to see. One of the videos that was posted was of Vicci singing “I Can Love.” The song seriously blew me away. The energy of the music and the lyrics literally slapped me in the face (in a good way). It had me singing most of the song by the 3rd play through. It was at that very moment that I finally saw why Universal  has been taking so long to release Vicci’s album. They wanted to put out the very best of Vicci Martinez, and from what I’ve heard and seen, I believe this to be the truth. I don’t think I have ever been so excited to run to the record store and buy someones’s album. I am counting the days until I can pick up this CD with the rest of the world and share the gift that is Vicci Martinez. Vicci is truly an amazing artist that sings from her heart and soul. In some of her songs she talks about coming together and saving the world while taking a stand. She stands up  for what she believes in while her lyrics are full of hope and postive messages. She wants us not only to love each other, but to love our selves at the same time. This is why in my own words I want the world to know that “In Vicci I believe & In Vicci I trust.”

Things Are Heating Up in The Land of Vicci Martinez

If you are like me and follow Vicci on all media outlets yesterday was a big day! Twitter was blowing up with tweets not only from Vicci her self, but also people she has been working with lately on her new album, as well as some contestants on season 2 of ‘The Voice’. Vic also posted information on her Facebook pages. Before we get into all that lets start off by talking a little about the rumors floating around about her self-titled album ‘Vicci’. From what I have heard and have been seeing, Vicci plans on putting a 4 song EP out in May and her full length album in June. Rumor has it that Vicci will be making an appearance on ‘The Voice’ in May. Hopefully singing her new single “Come Along’ live. Now don’t quote me, but this is just some of the chatter that has been surfacing lately. But oh how I am crossing my fingers!

The day started off with Vicci tweeting about rehearsing new material for a showcase, at what appears to be Beta Records. According to their web site, Beta Records is a New Media Distribution, TV Show, Production Company, based in Hollywood,CA.There was chatter from Aaron Forbes, who said that he is the music director for the showcase. Other tweets came from Jason Nevins who has helped Vicci with a few of her songs on the new album, as well as Beta Records themselves. At this point we don’t know what the showcase is, but Vicci did tweet the photo of the band at Beta Records.

Later that day Vicci made an appearance on ‘The Voice’, but this time it was from the sidelines. She was as at the live taping rooting on TEAM CEE LO last night while sharing her thoughts via twitter. Vicci tweeted, “Oh man! I have butterflies in my tummy for everyone… I don’t miss that!! @NBCTheVoice” last night while watching this years contestants. Vicci also tweeted how amazing Cheesa, Juliet Simms, and Jamar Rogers did on the show. Vicci stated that Cheesa had the crowd going. While Juliet gave her “chills”. Jamar sang Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way” which in turn lead Vicci to tweet” @JSquidward hell yes!!!! Im gonna go your way boo!!” Vicci also took some time out to take photos with TEAM CEE LO’s Erin Martin(LEFT) and TEAM XTINA’s Ashley De La Rosa (RIGHT).

Vicci Martinez Wins Award from About.com

Vicci Martinez just won the Favorite Musician award from the Lesbian Life section of About.com

After some pretty heavy duty voting by the Vicci Martinez Army, Vicci pulled ahead of Melissa Etheridge, Tegan and Sara and several other acts. Kathy Belge of Lesbian Life has also linked to our Vicci Martinez Army page from the winners list.  That’s what we’re talking about!

Proud of Vicci and proud of the Vicci Martinez Army for showing their support for Vicci.  There were several better known acts on the list but the ARMY marched on and Vicci won!
